Wight Night of Galleries 2019 @ Make a Point
Thriving Monologues – Art Factory
Opening: Friday October 11th, from 7 pm, part of NAG 2019
”Thriving Monologues” explores the making of human artifacts, presenting a radiography of the artistic process, from idea to object.
This metamorphosis is relying on a permanent inner monologue, each of us partakes. Past experiences blend with questions, observations, opinions, joys, fears or anguish and crystallize in symbols and drawings which we project outside of ourselves. These artifacts of the mind allow us to further our analysis of our inner workings, sometimes to such an extent, that entire subjective alphabets take shape and grow constantly, organically, day after day, year after year.
The exhibition invites you to take a look inside the minds of five artists, who are constantly expanding their inner worlds:
Irina Costescu, Giulia Crețulescu, Teodora Gavrilă, Roxana Tănase, Bogdan Topirceanu.
Art Factory began in 2015 at Make a Point in Bucharest, and the Thriving Monologues exhibition represents our return to the roots of the project.
The factories, themselves traces of an almost obsolete era of human civilization, host each year objects of the newer, post-industrial generations, which transform the old walls into mirrors for their own symbolical stories.
This event is part of the White Night of Galleries, 2019.
